Dear Parents and Carers,
Annual Swimming Carnival
Our annual swimming carnival was held at Dickson Pool on Wednesday. It was a wonderful carnival and well attended by our students. There was a full schedule of events as many students entered 50m and 100m races. The day ran smoothly thanks to the hard work of staff and our volunteers. The students also enjoyed the novelty events and splash park to gain water confidence or have some fun between events.
We had a great turn out of volunteers for the event and the carnival would not be possible without their help. I would like to offer a huge thanks to our sports coordinator, Mrs Elizabeth Fryar, for her preparation and calm running of the event on Monday. I know she spent hours working on the carnival and many people commented on how successful the day was.
We even had some unexpected entrants into some of the events - a local family of ducks! I wonder if they were the same ducks that joined us last year?!
We will present the place ribbons and winning house trophy soon. Some students will be selected to go on to represent Rosary School at the North Gungahlin district level carnival to be held on Wednesday 2 April at the AIS pool.
2025 NAPLAN Completed
Over the past week and a half, students in Year 3 and Year 5 have participated in NAPLAN assessments. It is only some catch up assessments that are to be finalised now. The students have done very well and tried their best with each test. Thank you to the teachers, classroom assistants and Mrs Liz Higgins for their organisation and support for the students. With predominantly online testing in place now, NAPLAN results will be available much earlier to parents and the school.
Year 2 Liturgy
Today Year 2 had their Liturgy, which focused on the theme of "Forgiveness." The students participated beautifully making it a joyous occasion that highlighted the importance of living with love, kindness, and compassion.
A big thank you to the parents who were able to attend and to the Year 2 teachers, Mrs Liz Higgins, Mrs Beth Toole and Mrs Elizabeth Fryar, for their preparation of the students.
Best wishes for the week ahead.
